The Philly area has just been a magnet for storms lately. I remember when Monmouth County used to be the big winner.

Been that way for years. South Jersey does extremely well too. It's really flat down there and when the flow is offshore like it is today you can get some Plains esque activity.

Looks like the cluster of storms heading into the Philly area robbed whatever storms there were a bit further north causing them to weaken.

This except there was more instability there. Bronx is getting lucky with one decent storm but other than that exactly what I said so I was wrong regardless cause I said north of Trenton wouldn't get anything but still close enough

Drove south through that, from around Scarsdale to 233rd st, Bx was quite the downpour, outside of that bright sunshine. It look like i saw some small hail but i dunno. Sleet size.

Floodgates have open here

Not here in the bronX, we just got a 10 minute downpour that wasn't even that bad just cooled us off.

later this evening around 8 we should get some decent instability because of the long summer daylight. I expect some severe weather wind, heavy rain and ground lightning. I'm calling these last thunderstorms of the summer.  Look at that line of heavy rain and thunderstorms around Scranton  and south.
