Memphis Weather
SPC opted not to go PDS for SW KS despite the High Risk and MCD. That's probably telling...

That's probably telling... Expand SPC really needs to start following this risk guidelines with probabilities. Like there shouldn't be a non-PDS for a high risk for a 50/30 for a 5% tornado risk. jojo762
Bizarre. Tornado Watch issued across Southern KS is NOT a PDS.
jojo762
Almost the entire northern 2/3rds of the high risk is in a non-PDS tornado watch after SPC said a PDS watch was likely for the area. PDS might not necessarily verify in this area, but still odd.

Just like Matt mentioned you got some locations within the 5% in a PDS watch where as some locations within the High-Risk (30%) are non PDS. Very Bizarre indeed. iowahawkeyedave
Agree, it is quite odd that the watch isn't a PDS watch in southern Kansas, considering the MD put out just an hour ago mentions a few stronger tornadoes. Wonder what changed to make the SPC go with just 70/40 tornado probabilities on the watch. Edit: Apparently SPC made an error on the watch. *IndyMeso*
SPC made an error with the latest Tornado Watch. It will be corrected to a PDS shortly per ICT.
MUWX
I think they pulled the trigger on the high risk way too early, but didn't change it because they didn't want to have to flip flop.

OceanStWx
Regarding PDS vs. non-PDS: MCDs are used as a collaboration tool. SPC issues one prompting the affected WFOs to prepare for a conference call about a watch. It is possible the local WFOs provided arguments for no PDS that SPC agreed with. Edit: Or trying to get it out quickly SPC made an error (see above).
