Looks like the heavier rains should be moving north and east of the area over the next hour, have to see what else develops later today and tonight. Regardless if any additional heavy rain develops later on there will still be lighter rains for the area for the rest of the day and night.

While I don't like to bash the NWS I will be honest, I have lost confidence in both the Mt.Holly and Upton NWS offices, it seems like they drop the ball more often then not these days.

Widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain expected with locally higher
amounts, especially in any thunderstorms, mainly through
afternoon/early evening. Any flooding will be mainly minor and
in poor drainage and low lying areas. There is a marginal to
slight risk for flash flooding today.

No significant precipitation is expected Saturday through the middle
of next week.

flooding would be minor yea right upton. who are they kidding
