magpiemaniac
How is it looking for WS, GSO? Now you know that you're not allowed to ask that. We're only concerned with ATL, CLT, and RDU. But seriously, I, too would like to know.
VeronicaCorningstone
I'd glady take that if it were all snow. The GFS really shocks me coming around at the end with the most precip. If it does, time to assemble the News Team. HOORAY!
Itunis
WSBTV's headline is still "Snow Forecasted For Christmas Day". It's "forecast", not "forecasted"!
Brick Tamland
If it does, time to assemble the News Team. HOORAY! I LOVE LAMP AND SNOW!
Brick Tamland
So, it looks like from reading the main thread, the trend right now is for it to be more west and wetter than originally thought. Is this correct?
tazaroo
Boy are they talking crazy in the 12z general forum. It is much more negative than our SE forum on the GFS and other possible West solutions. Especially seems to be coming from Mets that were previously for the storm and now have already thrown in the towel. They seem to be ignoring the fact that most models did trend west just not as much as the GFS and all you here are initialization errors on the GFS. Who's to say for sure that it affected the basic solution? I like the trends were talking about here in real time.

PennyForYourThoughts
That's about how I feel right now.... and I have to tell thousands of ppl in my area about it in 3 hours... Wouldn't want to be in your shoes. yikes! Seriously though, all you can do is give folks the facts that you know, and the factors which make it so hard to pinpoint the outcome. NEGa
That's about how I feel right now.... and I have to tell thousands of ppl in my area about it in 3 hours... good luck i would not want to have to do that for this system on christmas its all well and good for us to discuss the wx here, speculate, get excited, depressed etc. but when you are the face and have to put yourself out there, it's a big difference
Brick Tamland
Well, WRAL will just say what they say with every snow here. We might see some snow, could be a little, or maybe it will be a lot.
magpiemaniac
GSO can suck an egg, you guys have been winning the last few years over and over again with the snow. Would deviled eggs be ok? I certainly don't begrudge a good snow for you guys. (The feeling doesn't seem reciprocal.) It's just that some of us would like to broaden the discussion. CandymanColumbusGA
Thanks for the encouragement! Right now I'm going with rain, then maybe seeing a few flurries... Usually my gut feeling is dead on, but I don't have a gut feeling with this system.... and that is worrying my at this point.

shaggy
After 25 years of watching storms and experience of having so many busts each time I see stronger and further north my gut sinks a bit. Hard to shake so much history with ending up with all rain while 30 miles west gets hammered. I'm preparing myself for this letdown yet again as the trends are showing me this is coming much closer to the coast than forecasted yesterday! Itunis
FFC now says a dusting south of the WWA in N GA. Maybe the 12z/18Z runs had bad data, but wow. I have a feeling they will be playing catch up with this one.
