Sn0waddict
Flew out of LGA this morning, definitely wasn't 97! Currently in Chicago with a brisk NE wind bringing temps down from 80-40 in a matter of no time. Can't believe even BDR made its way over 90 in may. Rjay
This is ridiculous for May. Look at just before 11am on the 17th- present http://w1.weather.gov/obhistory/KLGA.html
SnoSki14
If we ever get the perfect heat combination this summer, most places will easily see 100s and LGA may record a minimum above 90.

Has anyone noticed the torches we've had so far this year have tended to just blow apart records? I mean - this one literally tied May's all-time high for LGA. Just thinking that LGA temps are off, they are running way higher than any surrounding areas. Newark is usually the hot spot. Anybody else think that way? bluewave
The record warmth erased the cold departures at most locations through the 18th. Newark is taking its turn as being the cool spot this month. NYC...-0.6 LGA...+1.9 JFK...+0.1 ISP...+0.5 BDR...+0.9 EWR...-0.

winterwarlock
Looking for that official heatwave designation later today. For all the hemming and hawing about no warmth in May seems like the month will end up about average give or take

I canceled a fishing trip today; it was supposed to cool down but is now progged to hit 90 again; many lakes are growing weeds and algae already. Can't remember a heat wave this early, though I don't think we actually met the criteria for an official one.
