SharonA
Sirens went off a few minutes ago when the TOR was issued; sky's darkening a bit now. The main cell is still some miles away by air. Beeline for me on the current ENE track.

nwohweather
Kind of an interesting case right here. Incredible shear and decent helicity aloft, yet the environment is not quite revved up but it is trying to badly ahead of the storm. Just not sure if the energy is there to provide enough lift for a serious tornado but it very well could be
SnowDawg
Looks like some anti-cyclonic rotation in that storm north of Rome.

They don't have them in NC though.

It's ingesting the rain cool air, but the LLJ is forcing the warmer, moist air from the SW into the area. It may sustain itself regardless of the cooler air. My temperature has gone up at least 5 degrees in the past 2 hours here in Atlanta to 66 degrees.
SouthernNJ
A bit concerned for the circulation moving toward Vidalia and Lyons GA. It could affect some more inhabited areas.

Carroll and Douglas county have them; I get to hear the eastern Carroll County one every time a polycon includes them ... so a storm is about to cross the state line, gets warned, and sirens go off 25-30 miles east where we're looking at lovely clear skies. So I'm mixed on that - it's great to get people wondering "what? Maybe I should go check the news?" but does cloud the issue between "EMERGENCY GET UNDER COVER NOW!!" and "Heads up for real, gang". Rotation not as ominous the last few frames or is that just wishful thinking?

Jim Martin
Saw a SpotterNetwork report of a tornado on the ground near New Site, Alabama a short time ago. There was no warning to my knowledge when it occurred.
SouthernNJ
That Lyons GA storm now has quite a powerful circulation. Anyone have Dual-Pol to see it anything is occurring?
SmokeEater
No warning at all on the Carrollton cell now. If it gets its act together, storm track has it going directly into the metro.

Nothing on CC but that is a strong looking couplet. May just be because it is far from the radar.

SharonA
Both TOR and SVR dropped off that cell that just minutes ago looked ready to pound Carroll and Douglas Counties on its way to the Metro proper. Did it really weakend that much or is this just an "oops we are doing 45 things at once and those expired"
