I've seen other non-weather message boards elude to this trend and quite frankly its aggravating. Not as aggravating as the board software switch last summer which was probably a big push and turnoff. How do you have a meaningful weather disco with 140 characters? Then you don't have all the customization of a message board. Today its going to reach 21ºC feeling like 25C, love the air out there. I was looking forward to a warm May so cold showing up in future runs better screw off, that's the last thing this boring regime needs. you live in a climo wasteland.. might as well stick to the banter threads. Out toward FWA and into Ohio, etc... maybe some mid 80s? 85 at CMH, hit 86 IMBY. Surprisingly didn't realize the gradient across the region until watching the local news. The past 30+ days (since the mid-March cooldown) have been very warm here. Only 4 days in early April had negative departures, and even those weren't that cool. +6.5F for the month. cyclone77
0.18" of rain since midnight, with most of that from the little blob of anvil rains that traversed the area early this morning. HRRR shows some decent deformation rains forming later on this evening/overnight but so far radar is pretty meh, so we'll see. HRRR also tries to get a few wet flakes of snow to mix in around sunrise lol. Gonna be a miserable morning rush hour.

cyclone77
The deformation precip has increased quite a bit over the past few hours. Looked pretty anemic a few hours ago. Would be sitting pretty if this was the middle of winter being positioned in the defo like this. Temp down to 46 with moderate rain. This time last night we were near 70. weatherbo
31 with a decent amount of ice out there this morning...should switch to snow later. Might be the last WWA of the season today.
cyclone77
38 with a cold rain falling. Snowing up in Dubuque.
cyclone77
Can actually see some partially melted flakes of snow falling in with the rain now. If we could keep this going a little longer it would probably fully switch over to snow, but precip about to move out.
hawkeye_wx
The back part of the defo zone really perked up overnight and dropped several hours of solid rain on the CR/IC area. Most models missed that. I picked up another 0.50" of rain on top of the earlier 0.24". My April total is up to 5.13". It's cold this morning! madwx
Some wet snowflakes mixing in with the tail end rain showers. 36 degrees. Winter won't let go just yet
cyclone77
0.92" for the 2-day event. Up to 4.55" for April. Miserable day with heavy overcast, brisk winds and temps only making it back into the mid 40s. Definitely paying for that spectacular stretch of weather a few days back. IWXwx
I guess that I'd rather have that in early May than in early April. 40's-50's vs. 30's-40's. Lousy either way, but a little more bearable.

cyclone77
Could see my breath out there while mowing earlier this eve. Don't see that very often in late April. Down to 37 now.
hawkeye_wx
The clouds have moved in slower than expected, so parts of the Cedar Rapids area have dropped into the low to mid 30s. I'm guessing my yard is about 34 with a bit of frost possibly forming. I hope none of the plant buds get zapped.
cyclone77
Warm front came very close to passing through here. Temp is up to 50 with a 47 dew compared to the mid 40s we had most of the day. Picked up 0.06" from the passing light rain earlier.
Stebo
I had to do a double take when I saw it on twitter, most places from DC down to Charlotte will be in the low to mid 90s tomorrow. Quite a bit early for that kind of stuff.

weatherbo
Rough stretch of weather for late April with rain/snow/ice. Today will probably be the third day remaining in the 30's (might hit 40), very little signs of spring beyond the brighter sun angle, return of birds, and a few nights ago I heard peepers for the first time but they've been quiet since. Hard time of the year to live so close to Superior. 5.4" for the month at MQT... 12.1" snow. That may place them in a top 5 wet April... I'd have to look. hawkeye_wx
I picked up a solid 0.39" of rain yesterday, a little better than expected. It sure was cold and nasty with a temp stuck in the low 40s. I'm not quite sure how much rain we'll get this weekend. Models have consistently shown 1.5-2.0", but a lot of deep convection down south can always mess things up. OHweather
CLE has a small chance at making a run at the all time April record of 88 tomorrow with 850mb temps of around +18C. We need a good amount of sun which is not a slam dunk. Regardless, should be the warmest April on record at CLE overall.
cyclone77
About as bad as it can get for this late in the spring. 39 degrees with heavy rain and gusty northeast winds. Quite a bit of thunder as well in the last 15 minutes. Picked up 0.67" so far today.
cyclone77
Extremely impressive range in conditions from north to south over Illinois. Dews are in the low 70s in southern IL pushing the heat index values up close to 90. Meanwhile wind chill readings in parts of northern Illinois are in the upper 20s! Summer to winter from south to north.
cyclone77
Up to 1.15" now. Really been pouring the last few hours. Down to 38 degrees, with a 28 degree wind chill. Euro and a few other models actually get us into the warm sector tomorrow. Would be phenomenal after the last few days, but I have serious doubts the warm front makes it this far north. hawkeye_wx
Not unexpectedly, today's rain event was a bust here, intensity-wise. I only picked up a meager 0.17". As is often the case, models were just too aggressive with the moisture transport into areas well northwest of the deep convection. Global models bring more rain in overnight, but I'm skeptical there will be much. The meso models have a better handle on the situation and they keep us mostly dry through midday Sunday as moisture continues to be intercepted by Missouri/Arkansas convection. cyclone77
Ended up with 1.30" yesterday/this morning. Brings us up to 5.91" for April. Should cross the 6" threshold later on today.
