Isotherm Posted April 29, 2017 Share Posted April 29, 2017 One of the best lightning generating storms in years. Thunder impressive too although we've had worst. Usually we're lucky to achieve a lightning rate of about one flash/30 seconds. This was literally almost constant, like you'd see in a horror movie. Lasted a good 1 hour+ too. Nocturnal events tend to feature louder thunder than daytime due to the typical inversion of cooler temps near the surface which acts to amplify sound waves.
