Eskimo Joe
I'll say this...nothing cools a paved surface like sleet. Everything is slick as heck. I would agree with other posters that OPM is/should close, but it's OPM.
BaltimoreWxGuy
So question...for official purposes, does measures sleet get counted as measured snow on the season?
RockabilyJunior
I'm not a meteorologist, but I have worked on Radar. Are those QPF estimates based on radar returns? I'm thinking that since ice is so much more reflective, you'll get what looks like higher QPF when in fact you just have a different p-type. Anyone know anything about this? Jebman
Once the storm gains enough latitude, the northerly circulation will change many places right back to snow really quick. Then deform snow will pile up on top of the sleetpack

There's going to be some snow tomorrow morning after the storm starts pulling away. Short term meso models will be the best tool. Looks like we change back to snow sometime between 8-10am. How much falls and sticks is really hard to say right now.
Jebman
wow 6 more hours of sleet, its going to really pile up I have an inch of sleet, in addition to nearly 2 inches of high water content snow beneath it - and the sleet continues heavy - with band after band after band after band all lined up to smash into Dale City, I 95, DC and then on up into MD where it changes to very heavy snow, piling up in feet upon Westminster and other places.
