I could be wrong, but that doesn't indicate the L is off NC... rather just south of there.  That is where the pressure is falling fastest, not where it is the lowest - aka its where the L is heading, not where it is.  It should theoretically be S/SW of there.

That should be the theme for awhile, right? Snow with periodical waves causing the upper levels to temporarily mix bringing periods of sleet, until it all mixes and it's just sleet.

Sorry, should have been more clear -- those are different model runs for the same time period.  The mid-levels appear cooler in the 01z run.
