yoda
Are we expecting the WAA thump in the next few hours or so? Thought I saw Bob Chill mention something about before 10pm?

SomeguyfromTakomaPark
This is pure weenie talk but I don't care...how many times have our 850s and surface temps busted by more than 2 degrees near gametime....if we could get -2 degree bust on 850s we'd be in serious business. CAPE
33/23 with some flakes flying. Weak returns so this wont last. Nice to have some dry air in place here.
snjókoma
So is the next mass of snow gonna drop us down to freezing? Cause my temp hasn't dropped in the last 30 minutes.
Sparky
Those brown blobs on Bobs precip map look almost cellular like what you would see in thunderstorms. Anyhow got some very light snow here.
Bob Chill
Cracked freezing. 31.7. Perfect time for incoming thump. @yoda Yes, it's already filling in and should be at your door in less than 30 minutes. Won't start heavy but should increase through the evening. WesternFringe
Noobie question: At this point, do we still defer to, or weight, the last run of the globals (which give me 0.8" qpf, for example) or the mesos like the HRRRRR that give me 0.3" qpf? RichmondTarHeel
I remember discussing not too long ago about temps being in the upper 30s at onset for the I95 crew. I think we're all at just about freezing right now. That's a good trend in my opinion. I can't fight it no more. My weenie has come out.

Maybe those weird "banding" looks with the 850 mb temps are telling us something.
stormtracker
Look, let's all be grateful that we're not sitting at like 52, waiting for the cold to rush in to save the day. We all know better, but we have hope eternal in those situations and 9 times out of 10 it never works out. This time, we got the cold...we just need it to hold.
