Looks like we will miss out on being the warmest April ever, unless we can get more sun than clouds on those potential 80+ days.

Next 8 days are about +8 (64 vs. 56)

3.9x23 = 90    8x7 = 56   Together they are a little shy of 150 surplus we need to become number 1.

I think May could be our next accidental below normal month, after April finishes near---or at the top of its stack.

CFS sub-monthlies are undecided for the EC, but have most of the USA BN in May.

What do you mean by "accidental"? Nothing in weather is "accidental". Whatever happens happens.

Sounds interesting, but pricey.

If only our weather was interesting enough to justify the upgrade for me. I hardly get any use out of the lightning feature on the $10 upgrade.

We need to create snow to cover the entire metro, to cool our summers.

Best LSR I've ever read.  From the Roanoke NWS office, filed today:

"THUNDERSTORM WINDS DOWNED AN EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE TREE ALONG CEDAR FORK ROAD. HOW LARGE WAS IT? SO LARGE THAT A BACKHOE IS ENROUTE TO CLEAR IT."

48 and rain, inside house temp got to 61. With an 8 month old, the request was made by my wife to turn the heat back on.

Running the heat now isn't like running the heat in the middle of a cold winter though so that's a plus. I flipped my downstairs zone back on and it just runs once in the morning to get the house back up to 63. Although today it may run a couple times but it won't be running on a regular basis like in the heart of winter

Staten Island Mesonet site is active as of yesterday.

Another rooftop site, but it doesn't appear to be as high as the Queens site. I'm hoping that translates to more accurate measurements.

That's the roof of the sports and recreation center at CUNY Staten Island from the GPS coordinates.
