This is still scary

That was an amazing video shot right next to Lincoln Blvd. The first clip below was what was happening further north along the bay near Lincoln in the hospital neighborhood. In the second video you see the flooding right on W Park St in a condo on the corner of Magnolia Blvd close to the Library.

Super El Nino precipitation arrived a year late in Northern California They are close to surpassing the record 82-83 after topping 97-98 recently.

This really gives new meaning to the phrase delayed but not denied.

A recent timelapse i did from Orient Point Long Island

Wow, that's amazing, Nick!  Do you use some kind of stacking program?  Hard to image taking shots like that with all the awful light pollution we have.  The Rocky Mtns are the best place to get away from annoying LP.

Yeah, if you ever can, head out to Big Sky Country, aka Montana.  Beautiful crisp air, and of course many opportunities to capture things like Nick did, which came out great.

Nice Spring snow out there occasionally too.  Imagine getting snow during the 2nd week of May, especially 12+ inches.

This was a series of 15 second photos (294 of them). I use software to combine them all together to make a smooth video out of all the stills. Most of Long Island is pretty bright but if you take a look at a light pollution map, the east end is real dark.

It is cedar creek park. Take a look at the link blue posted. At the bottom it shows a map of all the locations.

Pretty good spot. Should have some good wind observations.

Yeah, it's in a perfect open and elevated section of the park adjacent to the north side of the wastewater treatment plant.

Early indications are that we might have a strong central to west based El nino for next winter but it's way to early to say for certain.

Having a west based El Nino is a great feature to have, but on the other hand, too strong of an event we would torch. So my question is would a strong El Nino kill our winter no matter where its situated at?

Weak west based el ninos would be great for our area

Is there a thread for penny stocks here?

I don't know a lot about this stuff but I own only one, CDII.  Bought 1 million share when it was .0003 and now it's up to .018.  Was up to .03 the other day.   Waiting for a big pay day or for it to go under.

Pretty extreme record warmth since November in Galveston.

http://spacecityweather.com/galvestons-ridiculous-run-records/

November saw Galveston set or tie four record warm low temperatures and nine record warm high temperatures. December had three warm lows and seven record highs. January recorded one record warm low and eight record highs. In February the city had six record warm lows and eight record highs. March? More of the same. Galveston had seven record warm lows and three record highs. April has started similarly with two record warm lows (April 2nd and 10th) and a pair of record highs on April 1st and 2nd.

Along with daily records, Galveston also achieved the warmest days on record for November, December and January and the warmest mornings on record for November, February and March.

All told, since November 1st: Galveston has broken 23 record warm low temperature record and 37 record highs. That’s 60 warm records in a span of 162 days (through April 11th). Galveston’s weather records go back a long way, too. The history of weather observations there date to May, 1875. I reached out to a couple folks at the Weather Underground to try and gauge the odds of repeated records falling like this. With a history as long as Galveston’s, I assume the odds are quite low. No one has a good answer yet, but Galveston’s streak is going to promote more research on the topic. Suffice to say, it’s pretty remarkable and it has the attention of folks in the meteorology community.
