Man, lots of negativity on BUF area from OSU and others....I'm over 5 inches, it's been snowing more or less for the last 18 hours, and looks to continue for a while with occasional heavier bursts from lake enhancement.  BUF had my area in the 8-12" range, with accumulations over an extended time period...so I'm not ready to call this a bust for WNY by any means.

Heaviest snow of the day right now in my locale. Nothing like C/ENY, but probably close to 1"/hr with NE wind picking up.

5.8" at my house near Galleria area also heaviest snow so far here, the radar has filled quiet nicely over the last hour..

Look at that thing that's about to enter Madison County, wow, and if that doesn't make it here then I don't think we'll eclipse the 2' mark nevermind 30" but I remain optimistic!

Been thinking the same thing! Not gonna get much past Auburn I think let alone make it to Phoenix. Greens tending to disappear as they push further west. Gotta go measure but approaching 5" as a guess in Phoenix.

Im not sure i was being negative.  Im telling u the model trends over the past few days. There is no doubt that things looked a bit better for that area about 2 days ago when the great lakes shortwave was separated from a further east coastal.  Enjoy your snow.

It's that band, that where it stops...hangs out, then pivots over top....where the highest CNY totals will be...then the LES...

All good. Thanks for the analysis.  No doubt we do much better in far WNY when those strong great lakes shortwaves rotate underneath us.

I am directly under that band in central Otsego county.

It is snowing at an insane rate.

Trapped at work, so I can only eyeball but we have at least 18 inches on the ground and it looks like 3 inches per hour coming down.

I have only seen snowfall at this rate twice before in my life.
