BGM Blizzard
18z NAM 12km Para is same or better than last few runs across C NY. BGM is on crack if they think 10-18 will hold up across the C NY zones -esp the ones along near and east of 81...

BGM Blizzard
WPC giving C NY 50-70% chance for 18"+ and 20-40% chance for 24"+ over 72 hours...
CNY-WXFREAK
The only thing I see right now that doesn't make me too happy are the Dp's which are in the single digits across the area and below 0 in many spots as well but with the amount of Moisture, from both the GOM and the ATL, it will probably negate this. Enough to cover the roads, even main roads and it's the most slippery it's been all year.... nice to start this storm off with the grass already completely covered here, which is funny because by the time you drive to the Galleria area (about 10-12 minutes from here) there's nothing. CNY-WXFREAK
Man look at that lake band hitting the Western point of Lake Ontario. Bet there are 3-4"/hr returns in that band, WOW! a harbinger of things to come perhaps??

lakeeffectkid383
For being under pretty light returns I can't believe how good it's snowing. Coming down pretty moderately. I beta solid 1/2"/hr or so already. Flakes are super tiny though. Like sand or sugar.

Well if you want to get real picky I was talking about that band at like 9am, haha. Anyway, I suspect similar enhancement is expanding east down the lake but its below the radar. You can see a little hint of it around irondequoit bay. All the big Nor-Easters have this Early Ontario action so thats a good sign that things are on course. Water Vapor Imagery of the Southeast is very impressive. Things are really starting to pop.

Took about 36" in an 18hr period to do that. Of course all the mets came to Piez to check the maps. Mexico got over 50" for that event.

southbuffalowx
I can come confirm UB has cancelled classes for tomorrow, and from how the email was worded, it sounds like all SUNY schools will be cancelled tomorrow. Given that, I think it's a pretty good bet all schools will be cancelled for tomorrow pretty much across the state.
