18z RAP sounding for ROA....18 total with a warm look.  Both RAP and HRRR have us between systems and keep delaying the crash of the 850s.  I'll let the NAM pull me back in but the short range stuff looks real bad here.  We are going to need dynamics to help us out.  if we don't get under something special, I this we get blanked.  Hope I am wrong though.

Sounds like were done then. Dang I spent a ton of time tracking this thing. Oh well I guess. I am kinda ready for some summer heat.

Sounds good. Youre out in Blacksburg now huh? I just recently moved to a new development off 81 south exit 137 in Salem. Must have a little elevation cause its usually a little cooler than it used to be by the county p.d.

Yep, been up in Blacksburg for 2 years -- finishing up my meteorology degree this spring.

Extra elevation is always nice, especially back in Roanoke. Getting out of the bowl makes a difference. Back to flurries here -- No mix so far.

NAM sounding went from .86 total at 12z to .39 at 18z.  Looking at radar it looks like we are sort of dry slotted between the systems.  Temps are bad too.  We need rates and it does not look like we get it.  It might end as snow (the last tenth or so of liquid) here but having a 98x storm at VA Beach, it is hard to believe we are looking at .3 in total qpf.
