ajisai
This band is great. The snow just keeps coming. I'm not sure what they call it up here in New England for snow, but down when I was living in Austin, TX we'd get these same kind of narrow bands (going SW->NE) develop once they got beyond the mountains in Mexico. The mets on TV called it "train"ing bands when they moved through because the rain would just keep coming like an endless line of traincars. Caused some major flooding in low lying areas right before Halloween 2015. You can see an animated version of it here: http://thevane.gawker.com/the-incredible-process-that-lets-the-atmosphere-dump-an-1741057008

The 4 Seasons
Snowfall totals and my original forecast from the evening before the clipper. Not too bad... Warning criteria was never in the cards so the NWS busted pretty good on this one.
