Solak
RAH HWO... At this time, snowfall amounts are expected to range from around 1 to 1.5 inches over the Northwest Piedmont, to a dusting or less elsewhere.
griteater
18z RGEM out to 27 looks slightly improved with moisture/precip fields. It has been skimpy with precip. Looks slightly warmer in the Carolinas...1st time I've seen that in 5 days I think
griteater
RGEM trending a little north with precip and warmer out to 39 compared to its previous run...hard to tell how much will translate east of the mtns. It has been very light there
griteater
RGEM is still light and skips over the east side of the Apps. Has a little snow from Columbia to Florence to Wilmington.

LovingGulfLows
Honestly, short range models(RGEM/NAM) and GFS all show that the winner of this little event is South Carolina. Sucks the trough axis isn't a little more west...Atlanta can't even get token flakes...

Accounting for ground temps along with the surface, there just isn't going to be much in most areas in the Columbia area that experience higher precipitation amounts. Rain, snow, sleet mix at best. The latest NAM severely cut down totals from it's previous run. The GFS is just ugly and borderline, not worth mentioning, and the RGEM model is dry. I'd take token flakes at this point in the season. I'd take an hour of moderate to heavy snow.
LovingGulfLows
Also RGEM shows the precip measured in milimeters while NAM shows the precip measured in reflectivity(DBZ) so it's still a small period of moderate to heavy snow from 12z-15z or so on te RGEM.
