Zelocita Weather
Yeah, 6gfs verbatim shows a very nice coastal/developing low scenario with a lot of dynamics...as opposed to just overrunning

It seems like things may be leaning that way and it would not surprise me if that occurs with the afternoon update.
weathermedic
Bernie Rayno was showing this in his video yesterday. One of the maps he showed was the lift in the atmosphere. Seemed to be quite a bit centered right along where the gfs has the highest snow amounts.

weatherpruf
Could be a nice surprise.....really wasn't expecting anything for CNJ, on the cusp between 2-4 and 4-7....
JerseyWx
WWA here for 2-4". Maybe if things keep trending the way they are, that will change.
hawkeye
I keep seeing online that some people in the midwest put grass seed down on their lawns before a snowstorm to enable the snow to make great contact with the ground as the snow later melts and the ground turns muddy. So, I am going to try that today. Wish me luck. Come early May, my lawn will either look like a golf course, or, starting later today, the birds will have an all you can eat feast, either way, the grass seed company has made money. My neighbors will be peering out their windows laughing at me. I dont care. They laughed at Elon Musk, Einstein, and Plato too. Its time for a new revolution. Stormlover74
Think it will be mostly slush with clear roads?I wouldn't say clear roads if it comes down moderate for a time before 9 or 10 am. After that it'll have trouble sticking to pavementSent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
Zelocita Weather
NAM overall looks further south/better overall look with more coastal development, but still lower amounts than most other guidance....maybe 2-4/3-5 verbatim Indeed, ALL of NJ now sees 0.25"+ (even Cap May with coastal ehancement), most between 0.4"-0.5"

SnowGoose69
This is one of the few events I remember where the NAM hasn't had one of its NAM QPF runs
jm1220
NAM to me still seems mehh near the coast and city, better north of I-80 and in S CT. Probably 3-5" outside the city. Hopefully the models with the better coastal development are right, most models shoot the overrunning just north of the city. The GFS would be a nice few hours of heavy snow in the city as it leaves, NAM doesn't seem to enhance the snow as much.
