Mrs.J
Even though I am not crazy about this late snow, I am in my winter baking mood. Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookies. And for dinner tonight, Brazilian Fish stew.
feloniousq
I have low-to-medium confidence that there's a 37% chance CWG may or may not hug the SV for days and then be hyperdefensive when it busts high.

snjókoma
18z the cold and wet trend starts. Also just had a vivid memory of those storm vista maps showing 0" for me right before 3/17/14.

gymengineer
I get why hobbyists would use snowfall maps in lieu of soundings. But why in the world are meteorologists using snow maps as if they didn't have access to soundings to check if it's actually snow at a given location? H2O
Almost to the point where I just want the damn storm to happen. Seeing one or two models give and others take doesn't help figuring out what will fall. Gets tedious after a few days

NorthArlington101
I might just check out of here for the next two days, just let the chips fall as they may. It was fun being eight and only knowing it was gonna snow when you looked out the window. Now I'm worried about everything.

I'm standing on the other side of Heaven's gate, hoping I can let you all in, prepared to reap you all for good this time if I can't. I'm actually not very excited...I just hope it snows well for everyone. I know my old house will get smoked...hoping my new far west location will help here...we will see. Amped
Now I have to go shove my way into supermarket.... Do people realize that 12" of snow isn't a lot in March.... Our sun angle can melt 2"/hr and up to 5"/hr if you're in the death ray.

NYC and NE forums aren't the least bit concerned about snow falling during the day Tuesday. People here would be cutting their wrists if the bulk fell during the day for this storm. RichmondTarHeel
Fairfax county is so hard to predict. There's a solid chance that far eastern parts of the county get 4-5" while the far western half gets 10"+.
Thanatos_I_Am
I'll keep my elevation talk in here. Holy sh*t I'm sweating here in Rockville. All nighter going to be spent refreshing Radarscope as much as possible checking snow line.

Probably bad memories from Snowquester. There's no other reason. If you have good rates, the snow will accumulate even if the sun is shining high and it was 80 degrees the previous day. dallen7908
So for now we toss the steadfast but likely wrong GFS and look to the 18 and 00 UT suites, hoping against hope that the decision to toss the GFS is just plain wrong.

Yeah, it's pretty different in just a few miles. Heading out Stevenson Rd and dropping into the valley (near RavensRule shack) has a very different feel to it. Weather wise and otherwise.
