SEVERE WEATHER STATEMENT  

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

1131 PM CST TUE FEB 28 2017  

  ...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM CST FOR   SOUTHEASTERN TRIGG COUNTY...  

AT 1128 PM CST, A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO   WAS LOCATED 9 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CANTON, OR 9 MILES SOUTH OF CADIZ,   MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH.    

THERE APPEARS TO BE TWO TORNADIC CIRCULATIONS WITHIN A MILE OF EACH   OTHER, ORIENTED WEST TO EAST. PERSONS IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM   SHOULD BE WATCHFUL FOR THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDER ZONE OF WIND DAMAGE   POTENTIAL.

One thing I've learned over the years is that you can't assume the show's over, particularly in a case like this where there's a surface low passing northwest with strong low level wind fields and a somewhat uncontaminated warm sector farther south. The airmass will try to recover in the wake of previous convection at least excuse imaginable.

Yeah but this is Michigan, have to expect that we are lucky to get anything :lol:

Personnel from the National Weather Service will be conducting storm surveys across parts of Peoria, Marshall, and Woodford Counties on Wednesday, to determine the exact track and strength of the tornado that ultimately went through Washburn. Survey results will likely take until late afternoon to complete, and they will be posted here and on social media.

Will they be surveying the smaller tornadoes as well? We were on the Washburn tor, as well as the 2 other smaller tornadoes that dropped after that main one dissipated. House's roof was ripped off and the front walls caved in.

CENTRAL ROSS COUNTY...

At 248 AM EST, a confirmed tornado was located near Greenfield,
moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado. Radar shows tornado debris in the
         air.

Locations impacted include...
Greenfield, South Salem and Lattaville.

From 24 minutes ago.
