Windier now behind the front than with any heaviershowers we had. I think we had a rumble or two of thunder, maybe 0.25" rain. About as expected being stuck in fog much of the day.

Same here in SW Suffolk. The fog rolled in later in the afternoon and was dense in spots closer to the water. Strongest winds of the day now  behind the main squall gusting in the 40 mph range. LGA recently gusted to 40.

I was right at the Middletown/Walkill border on Rt. 211 when the storm hit with torrential rain, hail, and strong winds, which had to be 60+ mph.

Looks like a nice microburst went through the area. Tons of damage reports throughout Orange & Ulster counties. Tree damage is widespread as well as down power lines

November 89 is probably what you're thinking. The pre Thanksgiving outbreak followed by cold and several inches of snow on Thanksgiving

Yes that's the one!  Very weird season.  Had the big outbreak that sadly had a tornado that collapsed a wall in a school in Westchester killing 9 children then we had our only snowstorm of the season (which was heavier at the coast to boot) and then a historically cold but dry December but snow to our south and then a historically warm January and February!
