Not sure why this needs to be separate from the storm system obs thread but anyway...

It's windy. I got a 20 mph gust on my stupid little hand-held anemometer which means it was probably like 50.

We have threads for flurries. This wind is widespread and damage is occurring.

Yep and I'm looking for gust reports and they are hard to find in a thread where people are talking about 20 other things.

My strongest gust so far is 43 mph, but I don't have enough clearance here to get accurate wind speeds- let's just say that the 43 mph gust I recorded is the strongest that's been recorded here in over a year.

edit: just recorded 49mph on my anenometer

As of 1:02 pm OKX upgraded much of the region to a high wind warning through 6pm. Several reports of scaffold issues and debris off of buildings in Manhattan.

Oh look, guess I wasn't crazy afterall. Still disagree with them leaving Bergen County out but oh well.

Man I would love to be in Nova Scotia right now! Epic blizzard and coastal effects there

i think this is the best all around wind event in a couple years for the metro

Yeah people talk about New England but the place you really want to be for epic east coast storms is the  Canadian Maritimes.  They get triple phasers every few years.
