yoda
Decent 25 to 30 minute squall... measured on top of grill cover (flat top) and few other places... measured half inch
feloniousq
Bizarre looking outside - almost no visibility because of the second squall but everything has a yellow-orange tint because the sun is right behind.

MN Transplant
Really roars out there under these squalls. The yellow tint is fun.
Stormpc
I cant remember a better non storm related squall here in Va since I came here in 94 from Oswego NY. Needless to say, you can't compare. Good stuff today. Thats all I needed.

gymengineer
I don't want to muck up their thread since I'm an outsider-- for the discussion in the New England observations thread about verifying blizzard in 6 locations: Didn't Boston fall short of the wind requirement for the third hour, though? Jebman
I NEVER expected these squalls. I was pretty sure I'd get to see some mix early this morning then just blustery with clouds. WOW what a consolation!

Oswego is snow country, I wish i could spend one major lake effect snow season up there - I'd be diggin and diggin and diggin!
GATECH
Wow, these snow squalls are awesome. Solid coating with horizontal snow, visibility about 1/4 mile.
BTRWx
I don't think I have to worry much about my neighbors being here.
EastCoast NPZ
Kept the snow from the second heavy squall earlier. Solid 1" on the ground, even a few spots of snow on the roads in my subdivision, and others where the slush has frozen solid. If only those squalls had moved in now with the setting sun and colder air. Still, a nice winter landscape out there. Got very lucky too, because a few miles south there wasn't much on the ground. mattie g
Difference between the city and home in Burke was pretty amazing. Hit the second squall while on the VRE, which probably left me with about 0.5".
BristowWx
Oh yes. This was pure luck. My wife teaches in Manassas...just 10 miles east of here and got very little. Just pure luck for me and most of Western PWC. Right place right time. Event of the season for me.
H2O
The second squall was much better. Dusting and car topper. Was sweet sideways snow at times too
Kingstonian
Drove in one of the squalls coming down 395; it was a fun mile or so! When I got home just now, I was shocked to find 0.25" on my snowboard.

NorthArlington101
Got skipped by the squalls. Mulch didn't even get topped.
Wonderdog
Got about .25 but it was nice to see. Still haven't broke the inch barrier this season.

mattie g
Sad that it's come to some of us being excited by a couple squalls that lasted for a few minutes, while others are unsurprisingly left high and dry. This is what we've been reduced to.
