nrgjeff
Post event discussion, tornadoes seemed to over achieve but in hindsight the strong tornadoes make sense. Just glad nobody was killed. NWS and partners, TV EMs etc, did an excellent job with warnings, and likely saved lives in the populated area. Gulf Coast boundary was pronounced as it lifted north bringing higher theta-e air, and low level winds were the right direction considering what went on upstairs. At first glance 700/850 mb appeared veered off, but not so relative to other levels. Winds at 200/500 were from the northwest and west-northwest; so, the whole profile had a lot of turning. Surface to upper levels was a classic hodograph, just rotated about 30-45 degrees.
