ajisai
I haven't had a blizzard. I'm hoping for one of those "oh ****" moments I had as a boy sitting through hurricanes tear through Houston where you can't see across the road through the rain and the windows are shaking. bobbutts
Feels like a familiar situation being on the nw periphery of the heaviest snows. At least it keeps me watching and hoping right up until the end when big totals are that close.
TalcottWx
I'm late to the party. Just looked at models. I see Boston in stuck in the middle. 12" is a good consolation prize though. If h7 closes off over SNE that means CF probably pinned PYM cnty and a 700mb fronto band west and northwest of the city.

ajisai
Question for mets - is there any sort of "urban heat island" effect in cities like BOS? It seems like where I live we always come in an inch or so under what accumulations are said to be.

USCAPEWEATHERAF
I love blizzards more so than just regular snowstorms. I love the dynamics at play between the surface low deepening rapidly and then the consequences of such a blizzard.

To each his own. I'm busting. I know you are more particular with taking obs so I would probably want more confidence in measuring too. Although I am pretty careful about that. I would suggest measuring yourself because Logan obs are sometimes questionable. Yesterday they slanted that ruler a bit.

Then a couple of inches of sleet that went nowhere. Then 2" of snow. Then a couple inches last night with almost an inch of sleet and zr on top of it. The pack is so manly Rocky Balboa trains across it.
