LWX issued a STW... may I ask why?  Plus they are calling the line "severe thunderstorms"... don't see much lightning with them...

Because they qualify on winds and there is lightning with some of the line. Cmon, Yoda we've seen this before many times!

There is no "severe shower warning" ;)

I'm getting kind of worried about this line.   The HRRR shows it blasting through in a couple of hours.    it doesn't show the strong winds along the line as it rolls through, but it doesn't have the current strong winds either.

Worried for life and property or winds verifying? Serious question.

Is it because of the wind threat possibly being under played due to the models not showing it?

These things are tough.    SPC doesn't want to issue a severe box for these strongly-forced low-topped things with little lightning.    And you could argue that the overall high wind warning covers it, although that's for general synoptic winds and not a squall line.    LWX is on top of it - all they can really do is issue severe t-storm warnings.    I would think that if it holds together as it approaches DC metro, they'll issue the warnings way in advance.

Jeb!

It's Portland, ME. Not all of that is what has fallen in this storm, but it's ripping here. I'll be sure to keep jebwalking in your honor!

Post hundreds of pics or it never happened!

One question I have is why are you not up in Bar Harbor in the BLIZZARD WARNING? If I was gonna go on an epic blizzard jebwalk I'd be at the epicenter! I'd jebwalk in a T-shirt in zero visibilities in 5 inch an hour snow rates in 70 mph wind gusts!

Just walked outside.  Has to be the warmest NW wind in Feb in the history of the world.  That should be a bitter cold arctic blast. Almost balmy.

I know what you mean, I just walked out there to see what the wind was like, its pretty mild. Its gusting, and you can already hear that deep throated ROAR higher up, this storm means business
