The USGS webpage for MD also shows the low water from Hancock east:

I think the only reason the Potomac is "normal" is because they keep releasing water out of Jennings Randolph Lake.

The soil moisture percentages are ugly.  As much as we don't like a dreary Spring, some cool soakers would be nice.

We better start praying for a very, very wet spring in the southern states.  I fear the amount of heat already present in the NH combined with a lack of snow and ice seemingly everywhere but the inter-mountain west portends a torch summer, minus some major summer pattern anomaly.

Today was nice, but a bit too breezy.  High of 64F was several degrees under-forecast, surprisingly.

Ahh hahaha. Sounds like we'd get along fabulously food-wise ;)

I think probably whiskey-wise too. By the way, my gf and I tried a farm brewery out last weekend not too far from you. If you're a fan of Belgians, you and the family should check out Falling Branch. Neat old barn and good beers. I think it was bring your own food too.

From morning LWX AFD

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/...
Very mild Thu night and Fri night as area remains in the warm
sector with record high minimums likely especially Fri night.
Models seem to have slow down timing of fropa on Sat a bit which
should allow for more warming and destabilization with showers
and t-storms likely along the front some of which could be
strong to possibly severe. Cdfnt clears the area by 00Z Sun with
rapidly falling temperatures Sat night. High pressure then
builds Sunday through Monday bringing cooler and more seasonable
temperatures.

Decent soundings for the area Saturday afternoon for late February... possible severe?

It's got a shot, as the shear looks really good, and the cape is probably adequate.   The best dynamics go northwest of us, so the model signals seem to be best for northern MD and most of PA, but there is time still to sort this out.

00z NAM decent... maybe an isolated weak spin up with okay SRH?
