bowtie`
With the frontal boundary in the area this evening, I had no idea if the sunset would amount to anything. I was out there just in case... But it ended up being more of a bust...

bowtie`
The pre-sunset sky had plenty of clouds to make it interesting to look at... The post sunset red flash was rather diffuse with just a couple of brighter ropey areas...

bowtie`
All of today that system down in Texas was spitting clouds into the area. The edge of the cloud deck was hung up overhead but I could see blue sky off to the north. I had an inkling that if it stayed that way that the sunset might be something special. What it looked like pre-sunset... Post sunset the action got chugging along. The yellow flash... The red flash was especially vivid...

bowtie`
I forgot to post this last evening... Sunset between the billboards... Someone in Illinois had a great sunset. All I could see was a slight preview way off in the distance to the west...
bowtie`
While we are still in no-man's land between the three systems, they are getting closer. Last night the sunset between the billboards was shot with the 100mm. This evening I used the 35mm, as the clouds were closer... Best color dynamics... bowtie`
You would think that 16mm is plenty wide enough. Especially combo'd with a full frame sensor. But sometimes the sky begs to differ. From this evening...

bowtie`
Raw and extremely breezy day. Towards sunset there was a couple of breaks in the cloud deck so I headed out to the pond, just in case. Wind was blowing so hard there was no sense in even trying to smooth the water out...

bowtie`
Tonight was all about the pre-sunset. Rapidly changing sky conditions here. First image was all about the crepuscular rays. I purposely shot this dark and boosted the contrast, probably a tad too much, trying to show the rays. Too much? Second image was only four minutes later. And a much more balanced *normal* looking image...
bowtie`
Tonight was a very minimalist kind of night. Only one real cloud... There was some subtle stuff going on post sunset...
