michsnowfreak
Clipper looking good tonight. With a fresh 2" already on the ground, it will instantly look like the mid part of winter that it is tomorrow, I may even hit 30" on the season. Just goes to show it hasnt been a bad winter at all in southern MI outside that horrific 2.5 week stretch. With this being the first classic clipper of the season, it will be interesting to see if past clipper climo holds true and it actually beefs up at the last minute. Track is looking good for us in the Detroit area, however we are now on the northern fringe of the best stuff as opposed to the southern fringe models progged a few days ago. 2-4" with isolated higher amounts a good initial call. I'm not seeing that, you guys look to be positioned pretty solidly in it's track. Also I'd be pumped for this hitting low end warning criteria if I were you, with ratios and a period of s+. Good luck, at least someone is getting something in our sub.
Stebo
2-4 with isolated amounts higher looks like the correct call for most of the Detroit area.
sparky333
We might even see 1-3" out of this as we are just south of the Michigan border. Good luck to all in its path.
RogueWaves
Initial GRR map has mby in the sweet spot. A rarity of late with clippers. Good things going for this imho. Track, baro, moisture perhaps even a little lake boost on the backside. Just nice to not be on the sidelines of a synoptic event. Might even be some jack-zone lollies when all is said and done. DAFF
A nice little event at last... Wishing a big fat lolly over Joshes house as a bonus to his first thread starter. The only issue to me is the local onset timing and the core of the system hits during AM rush which is never fun as a snow contractor.
Hoosier
Not looking for much here, maybe a dusting.
madwx
Had around 1/4 to 1/2 inch earlier with the WAA band of this clipper earlier. Expecting some more snow showers later with the passage of the low but not expecting much accumulation. Hope this overperforms in Michigan so at least someone can get some quality snows out of it
michsnowfreak
Advisory for 2-4" for S MI. Dtx thinking 15-1 ratios do if that's the case I'd lean towards the 4". Latest Nam and gfs give dtw 0.30-0.35" qpf. The RGEM is a bit worrisome as it is more south but even still that is 0.20-0.25".
Chicago Storm
Somehow ORD picked up 0.1" of snow this afternoon. Now up to 0.6" for the month.
RogueWaves
At least 1.5" here in less than 90 mins! Still coming down decent attm

michsnowfreak
Looks like the jackpot might be right in the 2nd row of counties in MI, ie DTW. When watching a track waiver for a week it's always nice when the sweet spot settles near you. Let's see what she can do!

slimjim101
Here at my house I now have 3.5" of new snow. And now have a total of 4.5" OTG. This is not lake effect snow so while it is not a real heavy snow it still is more packed than lake snows would be. I have a temperature here of 26°
michsnowfreak
Got 4.5" imby. DTW had 4.3" and Monroe 4.5", though reports of 5" in northern monroe County. Looks like my area was near the jackpot. It is beautiful outside, over 5" on the ground after settling.

The models really honed in at the last moment and performed well. My 4.5" of snow had 0.34" liquid. It appears 5" in northern Monroe county was the jackpot for SE MI but I was definitely close! michsnowfreak
Snow has picked back up. Depth compacted to about 4-5" as dtw hit 36F but the new snow is collecting on non paved surfaces now. Looks great out there.

Appreciate your attitude from where you're sitting. 5.3" total here is right up there on the "event leader" score board from what I've seen listed. Marshall's been screwed a ton by clippers in recent years, so this kinda balances things a bit. ;-)
michsnowfreak
wraparound snows this afternoon added another 0.1" at DTW (4.3+0.1) and 0.2 imby (4.5+0.2), I guess still technically part of the clipper. Hi-res models show a narrow band of snow setting up overnight in the same areas that were hardest hit with the clipper.
Snowstorms
About 1.5" here and still falling, though it shouldn't really amount to anything. Nothing speculator by any means, but enough to make it look more like January than November, lol.
