southbuffalowx
Only light snow at UB North Campus, that area of snow is very underperforming.

I was working in Pendleton which is on the Erie/Niagara County border right under the best returns and at best I would call it moderate when it came down the hardest. I was enough to put down about 1/2 inch on grassy surfaces over about 1 1/2 - 2 hours... not too impressive.
CNY-WXFREAK
If we happen to pick up over 6", which is what the NWS is advertising, I will streak down rt 370 butt Naked, lol!! I don't see more than 3" or less falling. Its -2c at H950 and -8C at 850 and we're sitting at 35F with still a mix of rn-sn so we're already seeing the strength of the mid-Feb sun. The -12C isotherm is still over GB stretching back to KDET so I don't think we'll see the lake light up till after 6-7 this evening. But I will say this, when a squall moves through the dendrites look of the accumulating type so that's a good thing. Nice squall moving through now should be hitting the City in a matter of minutes. CNY-WXFREAK
We have a fantastic WNW fetch clear across most of LO but its still to warm aloft to generate much in the way of LES so we wait for CAA.
rochesterdave
P and L showing a massive 1" for Kroc. Upstream starting to bloom. Wait and see kind of 'event'. And I use that term very loosely. Lol

WxNoob
Seems like we need a mother of god '93 type event to appease everybody. Snow really started picking up north of Cortland EDIT: looking at radar seems like it will be short lived.
CNY-WXFREAK
Yeah looks like Cortland and Tompkins are gonna get a nice squall in the next few minutes. Looks like Coastal ME gets another Blizzard.
CNY-WXFREAK
-12 isotherm just about to KBUF so we should start to see Erie really light up with much more numerous bands as a NW flow exists. KBUF has the ridge up tp 18" now and that's not bad for a relatively short event.

DeltaT13
Georgian bay is springing to life over the last hour. Should seed Ontario quite nicely in a few hours https://weather.gc.ca/radar/index_e.html?id=wkr

Yeah thats when we should be cold enough aloft. I'm patient but I still don't believe what the NWS is showing, lol. 5 minutes ago, DeltaT13 said: Georgian bay is springing to life over the last hour. Should seed Ontario quite nicely in a few hours https://weather.gc.ca/radar/index_e.html?id=wkr Yep, I've been watching this radar as well and it has sprung to life the past hr or so ans should seed Ontario nicely. These NW flow events usually hit South of the City in the hills in and around Tully and Song Mountain. I bet they've had a nice season thus far and should be pretty good Spring conditions soon I would think. Not much of a skier so I could be wrong. Anyway, I hope it forms over North Central Onondaga County and I will be happy and with a 290-300 flow, that's where it should set-up so let's see what happens in the next few hours! CNY-WXFREAK
i see a nice trajectory right into downtown KROC right into the Finger Lakes but KBUF won't bother to mention that, lol!
CNY-WXFREAK
Still nothing happening on the East end of the lake but it looks like its changing as there are returns starting to pop up here and there.

CNY-WXFREAK
H700 moisture just about to pass over the East end of the lake, so that too, should lend a hand to whatever's gonna form out this way. However, the -12C isotherm is still in the Western part of the Lake and we're at about -9 so its close, real close!

CNY-WXFREAK
Wow, so ytd we're actually ahead of climatology, I would of though otherwise but then again it is measured at Hancock which is about 10 miles North of the city in a better snow belt believe it or not as I would bet money the city is nowhere near 97". CNY-LES FREAK
I don't even know what to call this event cuz it sure doesn't look like a lake effect event to me, unless what is directly to on North continues to drop zone and that becomes the band, who knows. Snowing very lightly just north and south of the Great Northern MallSent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
tim123
Still to much shear over central eastern lake cause of upper low needs to move east a bit more. Western part of lake is going good
