Upton should cancel HHW. Per soundings posted on another board, inversion looks to prevent strong winds from mixing down.

Good luck with the sleet to my northern brothers.

Wind wasn't much of a factor here. The further east track killed the strong wind threat. Dry slot knocking on the door here now.

Dry slot has pushed through Mercer and hunterdon but more heavy rain moving in off the ocean so it will be a short lived

Yep filling in now towards the coast. Still looks like from Phl south and west will finish with less rain the Predicted

If this were a true snowstorm, there would be bridge jumpers left and right, you can't just extrapolate radars and say, "Dry slot incoming" - the storm is redeveloping offshore and its heavier bands are reorienting themselves.

Nobody cares about rain. Winds were the headline. It's been raining all winter. If it was snow we would all be buried. No jumpers.

Select rainfall amounts as of 10 pm:

Belmare: 1.63”
Bridgeport: 0.38”
Islip: 0.48”
New York City-JFK: 0.62”
New York City-LGA: 0.54”
New York City-NYC: 0.76”
Newark: 0.90”
Poughkeepsie: 0.39”
Westhampton: 0.45”

0.72 here. Surprised Islip is so low.

Nam/RGEM/and Now the GFS say we are mod/heavy till 5-6pm tomorrow... this is quickly becoming a serious event up here, where it's all frozen... roads are an absolute disaster... powers been out 2 hours now

The story of this storm will likely end up the winter wx impacts up your way. The wind/flooding here look to be quite overdone. It's just about an average wet/windy nor'easter here.
