Cool, however I would like to see just one snowflake over this way!!!! It's pretty cool to watch how sleet accumulates around the yard. Twice as deep around the perimiter of the cars where it rolls off. You guys got no snow at all? We started as a few flakes went to sleet and then got about 30mins of +SN before flipping back to +PL. backedgeapproaching
Mostly SN on the west slopes of the greens in SVT with some PL mixing in. Started as some light pl\zr. Temp down to 28F.

HIPPYVALLEY
Sucks that the Valley is getting some sick moisture bands in a winter storm and it's not snow but I think the impact of the sleet totals in the morning will be impressive. Definitely some school cancellations and possible travel delays come daybreak. It is absolutely pounding sleet and snow right now.
Sugarloaf1989
NWS p/c updated to show 1-2" of sleet expected overnight for my local.
wxmanmitch
Around 1/2" of sleet accumulation. All sleet, nothing else. We started briefly as freezing rain though when the synoptic precipitation moved in. Moderately breezy, but nothing exceptional. Gusts to around 30-35 MPH. CT Valley Snowman
Any thoughts on when this flips to liquid near the Ct/Ma border? Quite bad out there now with a temp of 32.9.
dendrite
75/25 -SN/PL I sorta hope it's mostly sleet. Downslope shouldn't affect ice pellets too much. They're not going to readily sublimate like a snow crystal would.
HIPPYVALLEY
A few degrees colder in the mids and Codfishsnowman (and the rest of us in WNE) would have been content with January's winter output. We have had impressive rates of precipitation for a few hours now. I know I'll be impressed with the frozen qpf regardless of it's form.
dendrite
100% sleet in this band right now. Scalp city.

dendrite
It's kinda funny to see it struggle to wetbulb down to near saturation here with the sleet falling into the BL whereas N ORH county got into the snow and dropped into the 26-28F range. The RH is only 79% here and CON is 30/22 despite a tenth in the can.

HIPPYVALLEY
Radar is f'n killin' me tonight, what a great set up for all. I'll take my chances with this kind of moisture feed, at the end of January, no matter how it affects the outcome of something further down the road. Honestly wasnt expecting any snow on the western slopes, definitely not some decent sized aggregates that have been falling. Pretty much all models had a substantial warm layer here downsloping off the greens. Will take it while it lasts. Winds are ripping as well.
