HoarfrostHubb
I call BS on the Fitchburg number. Another trained spotter, co-op observer only got 3.1" there. I really doubt they got 6" I also don't believe the 6" in Westminster or Leominster. I was at Wachusett last night and drove through Westminster 4 times. That wasn't 6". Maybe 4"

Scott Quick question Wouldn't you agree that with a snow like yesterday's if you don't have a board to clear 6 hrs after snow began, i would imagine an accurate reading (given the rules to clear board or not) could be EASILY 2-3 inches lower than another poster who did. By this morning a 16 inch snow fall (cleared board every 6 hours) would probably settle to about 10 inches by now. I'm sure J. Spin and Powderfreak would attest to that. Yes...I already noticed it settling. We had some wind so it wasn't exactly a fluff job, but it was settling even yesterday.

Impressive 2 days there. Boy talk about timing things out in rather hostile patterns like last year and this year. I was just thinking, I think parts of your area have had a double digit storm each year since maybe 06-07. If not, then awfully close. I missed out in 11-12 from being screwed, but you guys had that one storm in Jan that gave you over 10".

I do remember that Jan storm in 2012 where the area received 10-12". Of course it was the one day I was in NH and came back after it was over, go figure :/. Typhoon Tip
Lot's of wind evidence in those pictures ... Up here in the deeper interior, where in this part of northern Middlesex CO we average right around 4" .. there was only a gentle breeze throughout the event - certainly no where nearly enough to sculpt the snow into fins and wavelets. Additionally, 12 to 16" new snow in 20 F cold ... things must have been dicey together with that wind. I am wondering how the Blizzard Warning may or may not have verified? Also, I am wondering how much of that snow was purely synoptic in origin versus how much was OES contributing... During much of the event, with reasonable distinction one could discern radar returns moving WSW disparate to the general motion of the entire field. That may be impossible to unravel... WinterWolf
Ended up with 6.5 inches..decent event for sure. Personally for me, the December 17 very quick hitter was a LIL better..not only cuz I ended up with a half inch more in that one, but because the snow came down heavier in the December system. But I'll take this anytime.
