usedtobe
Jason and I wrote another tag team CWG article on the snowstorm tomorrow. My friend, Rich Grumm once made a presentation about living on the edge of the precipitation field and woes that often exist when you do. This is one of those cases when small changes to the upper air impulse and the resultant low can change the forecast. A dusting to 2 inch area can become a 3-5 inch area with only minor changes and strengthening of the approaching shortwave compared to the model forecast. Weaken that same impulse and a 2-4 inch area being forecast can end up with an inch or less. That's living on the edge. The latest Euro gives my house 4 inches or so. That's what I'll be rooting for. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2017/01/06/snow-likely-saturday-in-d-c-area-heavy-amounts-possible-in-southeast-suburbs/
H2O
The cutoff worries me because it is so close to MBY. and its just for a measly 2" or so. Thanks for the write up, wes. It will be a storm to look back on and see how it performed.
