Lots of happy people to the north and west, unhappy folks from Center City and points south and east.
RevDodd
Wow! What a changeover. A couple of minutes ago, I realized I didn't hear the persistent rain we've had all night. Looked out front and the sky is full of tiny snowflakes in central Harnett County.
Jalba
Just when outside to measure, a got a good average of 7 inches as i didnt have a specific place to check. Seems about right as its inline with other official measurements near the area. Down to light snow now

wake4est
Forecast still calling for a changeover to snow in Wake County with 1-3" by mid afternoon. I don't see it happening based on downstream returns.
SeVa
Blowing snow with tiny little flakes. Really hard to get a good sense of rates as I didn't set up a snowboard, but I live on the water and visibility is down around 1/4mi. Hopefully snow growth starts improving so we can begin to pile up.

You can actually see the sleet line now receding south on the radar. http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=AKQ-N0C-1-

fountainguy97
just woke up down here in Gville. to 31.2 temps. deck completely covered with a sleety/snow mixture trees have a small .05 glaze of ice. Currently falling is a sleet/tiny snow/ice particle mixture. Still several hours to go! avoiding the massive zr amounts so far Edit: out of no where started pouring sleet/snow. hopefully we can tap into some of that heavy stuff

That was always in the back of mind as a potential huge bust for us. We look really good for a general 8-12, but drifting is going to make it damn near impossible to get a good estimate. Eyeballing between 3 and 4" already

nnweather757
4.5 inches here in midtown Newport News. Flipped back and forth from sleet to snow from about 3 until 6 and all snow since 6. Rates are improving and wind is picking up.
FallsLake
Light snow at the moment. Total of 3"; about 2" sleet 1" snow. Did get more sleet before the change. Be nice to get a couple more inches of snow and end with 5". I would call that a great victory with what happened. But we'll see...
WeatherNC
Closing in on 3" but atleast an inch of that is sleet from the overnight. May make a run at 6-8" if this can keep up through the morning but looking at radar I am not getting my hopes up, these systems always seem to exit a little quicker than expected. There is some redevelopment of bands to the west but not sure how substantial they'll get.
SnowJoMoJo
Pingers all night just SE of 1 and 98 intersection in northern Wake county. Haven't measured, but eyeballing about 1.25 to 1.5. Still light IP. Breezy and 26.
Tarheel17
Looks like 3 inches of snow/sleet mix in central chapel hill, NC. We had 1.5-2 inches of snow, followed by 6 hours of sleet. Hopefully we will squeeze out an inch or 2 from these followup bands, but not getting my hopes up. Quite a disappointment, with the NWS still calling for 6-11 as of 1:30 am.
