AMZ8990
It looks like what is over Nashville right now is trying to break up somewhat, But it very well could lose some steam and then build it right back up as it comes across the Plateau. nrgjeff
Chattanooga had a few flurries earlier. Hopefully more is on the way.. Glad to see first time posts. Obs are so helpful. Thank you! Good to see many receiving sticking snow. We definitely root for each other in this forum. Cheers!
HighKnob
I am amazed that roads arent slicker here in NETn, temps are chilly, but the rates have been so weak that it seems to be wetting the roads but not sticking, even with temps in the 20s
John1122
Temps are bitter. I'm at 16 right now. I can probably squeeze 2 inches from .1 if I can manage that.

Filling in towards the southern valley Yeah it is mostly virga just a few flurries here at the moment under returns. Wonder if we lost some of our moist column during the break in light snow today. ShawnEastTN
I've been watching the Columbus MS AFB radar looks like the wave coming across SW TN is getting close to interacting with deeper moisture from the gulf. I suspect that is about the moment it gets to E TN then enhances the moisture transport and lift out of NE AL into East TN. Wave north of red line, Main system moisture south of red line:

JayCee
Getting pumped about the MRX radar. Not only are returns increasing from the southwest, but latest frames show returns increasing from the east as well...basically coming over the mountains. ShawnEastTN
I think we lost the benefit of a moist column during the break during the afternoon from the snow showers and now we have to moisten again, but surely this will moisten quicker considering the source of moisture. If I have your location correct, I'm seeing returns just to your south. Advancing northeastward. I would hope you'll see some flakage shortly. Stovepipe
Hell, the radar is showing the highland rim potentially in play, depending on how long the column takes to moisten.

MRX is probably the more accurate at this point. I've heard others mention "virga" storm. I guess we'll see what happens when those returns are over your location. JayCee
The radar returns over southeast TN continue to expand and enhance. Hopefully, that's a very good sign.
ShawnEastTN
Just now, JayCee said: That last flare up over East TN, is that the trailing upper level energy further back when it meets the main moisture? I've been seeing that sort of secondary flare on the HRRR on this run its like HR 9-15' ish... I've been wondering that.
