A few flurries in Long Beach.

Good luck all-a decent to significant event still looks likely for most of us. Hopefully the new HRRR is right and we see the snow head more north than east from here. It's really just time to watch the radar and nowcast.

Here's my final guess:

Central Park: 3.5"

JFK: 5.3"

ISP: 7.5"

MTP: 8.8"

EWR: 3.2"

BLM: 5.8"

FRG: 6.4"

HPN: 2.4"

MMU: 0.7"

SWF: 0.5"

My backyard: 6.0"

MTP with see 12-16" IMO.  The rest looks good to me.  Maybe slightly more at ISP

Yea ,and also, its not like the Euro called this either.  NAM once again proving it can be quite accurate "at times". Even was correct in the SE with the warm noses that kept precip a mixed bag for many.

if that 6 inches happens in nyc it probably will be in brooklyn or queens and not in manhattan or the bronx...

You can kind of see where the heavy stuff is setting up down along the NJ coast and DE. West of there will have some decent snow too but in that band and east is where the totals over 6 should be. That'll translate NE into our area, so maybe Brooklyn on east.

probably 19 in the bronx so no the ground is not warm...

It might be that cold now, but it's been pretty mild lately, there's likely some residual warmth. The ground isn't frozen (at least here it isn't).

I know snow can accumulate on warm surfaces, but it doesn't happen at the same rate as snow piling up on cold surfaces.
