Nassau and W Suffolk will be tough, looks borderline between adv/warning right now. If 0z ticks west again, warnings might be needed.
brooklynwx99
NAM looks better. PNA ridge is more amplified and and the shortwave is more consolidated. 00z 18z

brooklynwx99
4km NAM is definitely farther NW with the precip shield through 16 hrs. The precip shield itself is more robust, and the LP is slightly stronger. Should end nicely. 00z 18z

BobbyHolikWillFindYou
When would we be getting snow in North Jersey? It's Russian/Greek Orthodox Christmas and we have a lot of family traveling our way. Any info would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Assuming you mean Rockaway, not much snow is expected at all, unless the system really jogs hard NW, but what does fall will be in the late morning through mid-afternoon. I find that for timing questions, the hourly weather graphics that the NWS has for any location are very useful. Just go to the NWS-Mt. Holly homepage and click on your location (or can enter a zip code) and once you have your local forecast, on the far right of that screen you'll see the "Hourly Weather Forecast" graphic and click on it to get the graphic below. Rittenhouse
I thinks WSW to queens maybe Brooklyn and WWA to EWR?WWA for the five boroughs...WSW for Nassau and Suffolk. They tend to be less bullish on a weekend. My guess is they will put out a 3-6" forecast for the city.
