mikem81
I am suspicious that this will come more NW. I mean the models have a ton of snow in eastern NC. I dont see that rain changing to snow anytime soon there. Snow line looks much farther NW down south than modeled.

Boston may never go under a blizzard warning with this storm, but Cape Cod might.
pazzo83
Guess we're gonna have to hope for a Jan 25, 2000 scenario. God I hated that storm (I was about 4 mi from the cutoff in VA).

Generally high end advisory for western LI and warning for eastern LI. It's good to be 7 miles east of my old place in Long Beach In this case. Regardless where ever that furthest west band sets up (hopefully over Nassau) is going to get a nice half foot. With amounts way less west and slightly less east of said band. We had that during febraury last year where Nassau was the sweet spot and I got 10" in wantagh I think RVC guy had 11. City had 3 with that event. This band could end up over the city or central LI though I just think best spot now is nassua

Sn0waddict
3K NAM Buries all of suffolk county(including the western portion) with 12+ inches of snow. Nassau would be 8+... not sure about the reliability of said model but I found it interesting nevertheless.

There definitely looks to be a weenie band or two somewhere near the western edge. There are usually secondary jackpots there with the high ratios. Ratios should be good as well. It's tough to find a warning level event for Norfolk and Cape Cod when NYC also doesn't also get 6 or more. I think if the lead wave today didn't push the baroclinic zone east, then the the second wave tomorrow would have passed closer to the BM and NYC would have had a shot at 6 or more. 12/26/04 might be an example. I think I remember 2 or 3" in Long Beach from that and much more east.
