Effective at 1am...but honestly, around here, I appreciate every flake I see. Wasn't expecting to already have them floating around.

cae
This is not local, but here's the storm. How often do you think they get snow in Lafayette, LA? This is from a little while ago. Right now Tuscaloosa should be seeing some good rates.

WinterWxLuvr
Two things are a virtual certainty. People have phones with cameras, people have rulers. When people get snow, the two make a wonderful pictorial history of a snow event.
RIC_WX
23.2 / 9 in Leesburg. JYO dew point down 6*F in last 90 minutes or so. Not too often we are the source region for someone else's blizzard LOL

das
21.4°F / 10°F here in Clarksburg. Got the wife and daughter praying for the north trend. Just enough to get that normal outer band banked up against Parr's Ridge.

Herb@MAWS
Every few minutes it seems my thermometer ticks down another 0.1 degrees. 23.2 now. No problem seeing the moon, just seems to be hazy around it. High overcast acting like no blanket. Really dry. One of the few times I wish I was 10 degrees warmer at this point pre-storm. NorthArlington101
Don't get too down. Field looks like it is expanding? All I see is good news. Lots of precip over TN, and an expanding precip shield. Hopefully we get some of it over us sooner rather then later and get the dry air out. WVclimo
Just arrived at the cabin we rented for the weekend on the water in Virginia Beach. Rain/sleet mix and 32 degrees. Hoping for changeover to all snow before daybreak.
wxdude64
Just a FYI to the 'western guys', was 25.0/11.2 here 1 1/2 hours ago as precip shield moved over, took an hour for snow to make it to the ground, now 24.6/15.4 and snowing decently. Definitely. I feel the pain of the Raleigh snowlovers who are stuck with sleet and rain while north of them is getting pummeled.
