KALB does a better job for their Northern counties that get hit pretty hard, than that of KBUF. I'm not bashing them but rather trying to bring some awareness. I am sure they all do coordinate, even if not specifically mentioned in the AFD every time... but when it comes to generating forecast maps, pretty sure the staff mets are not sitting on a conference call while hovering over a graphics app tweaking every little map contour...too many other things to do on shift.... CNY-WXFREAK
KFZY should see a few quick inches as this Meso passes through. Don't think it sets off the LE that is forecasted but at this point, who knows, lol!!Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
CNY-WXFREAK
I think for now on I will use KBGM'S graphics than that of KBUF!Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

wolfie09
Pouring snow right now, some of the heaviest I have seen this year.. This is all "bonus" snow as the NWS had very little snow here today with 1"-2" tonight, most is suppose to fall during the day tomorrow..

CNY-WXFREAK
Good for you Wolfie, as at least someone is cashing in, in the Southern part of the County! That 2" fell in less than an hr, correct, or longer?

wolfie09
Latest SWS A BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL AFFECT SOUTHWESTERN OSWEGO AND NORTHERN CAYUGA COUNTIES... A band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates of 2 to 3 inches an hour will focus between Fair Haven and Oswego while extending 10 to 15 miles inland of the lakeshore to just past Fulton. This band is expected to remain nearly stationary, or to drift slightly northeast through 830 p.m. Travel will be extremely difficult in this heavy snow with near zero visibility
CNY-WXFREAK
lol, moving NE, simply retarded. I made a colossal mistake of moving closer to the city of Syracuse instead of moving the other way further into OSwego County! Won't make that mistake again. wolfie09
Snow slowing down now, just measured 3.5", just passed 70" for the season.. The NWS P&C forecast shows another 6"-11" by tomorrow night..
CNY-WXFREAK
HRRR hasn't done too well with this event but the RGEM nailed it and so did the NAM3km. Their just so hard to predict. I'm sure their working on a better solution to forecasting LES events, if not, they need to start!
CNY_WX
That band never made it to me, kept dying out just to my west. Only had a few flakes in the air.

lakeeffectkid383
Took a little ride earlier today to chase that Lake Erie band. The rates were very impressive. Prob a solid 2" an hour. These pics were from North Collins where there was AT LEAST 2ft on the ground (didn't have a measuring tape with me). The parking lot I was in had a solid foot of pure fluff in it which I'm assuming fell since last night. This was at 3pm and judging by radar I wouldn't be surprised if there's another 6-12" on top of this already with more to come. I would bet Forestville is over 50" since they were at 37" as of 8am this morning and they've been under that band for a good part of today.
