I was so miserable trying to sleep in the heat last night that I dug out a small window unit and tossed it in around midnight. Need more time to acclimate to this stuff...

I wasn't that bad but was up even earlier than normal because it was a bit stuffy at 74 in the bedroom.

Well, bummer :( Things were finally drying out nicely.  The forest floor was still soft and tacky but wasn't squishy anymore and it was kind of nice but it looks like this week is going to put the kybosh on that.  Back to mud...

Depends on what forest floor you are referring to.  I didn't pay a lot of attention to the models over the weekend but after a quick glance this morning they seem drier in terms of QPF up this way at least.

^^ There are so many great birds around this year.  I've seen more eagles, owls, egrets and even what I'm pretty sure was an Osprey this year than in the last few years combined.  There is at least one family of Bald Eagles that I see regularly on the Croton River in Croton Falls, usually right around the 100/22 intersection.

Is Thursday really the only day this week that it probably won't rain?   #bringbackthedrought

People ask me who never saw one how I knew it was a bald eagle and I tell them that the first thing you'll say is "what the hell is that?!" between the sound of them flapping their wings and the size of it.

I'd like to see one of those YouTube segments where they go around and ask people questions like "Do you know what the Fourth of July celebrates?"  But instead of that they show a picture of a Bald Eagle and ask what it is lol.

Happened to be near the Dutchess County Airport for my daughters softball game as the storm was developing. Definitely nice rotation in the storm. I took several videos as I had a perfect vantage point. I'll post the link to my twitter where I posted many of them. The second post has a few videos in it.
