griteater
Out to 21, the NAM is more like GFS than it is the Euro with the wave off Oregon

The next 48 hours is the timeframe we are interested in. Also it's useful to see what type of trend or changes it shows. I've found it to be quite good within 60 hours. griteater
Regardless of what the NAM shows, I see no problem with analyzing every damn model on the planet...we only get these shots at glory maybe once a winter, if that
Coach McGuirk
I suppose the journey is better than the destination.

Tyler Penland
Through 27 hours, the NAM looks more like the GFS to my untrained eye. Looks almost identical to the 12/18z at this point. Sent from my SM-G930R7 using Tapatalk

Buddy1987
36 NAM has closed contour off Oregon coast. Still similar to GFS.
Wow
No it's trending toward the Euro. Northern stream more buckled westward.

I'm stuck at 36...it looks like the GFS is farthest east with the northern stream dropping down, then NAM, then Euro...so it looks in between to me. NAM looks a little healthier than Euro with the wave itself off Oregon

Theres a lot more interaction between the shortwave and the northern stream activity, whereas the gfs has both separated more and not as much interaction. Buddy1987
51 has a closed contour over southeastern oregon. Gfs still has it over the coast of oregon. Nam kicking it out much faster thus far.

griteater
Biggest difference I see in looking at comparisons is in comparing the 18z NAM with this 00z NAM. It has definitely trended more toward the NS trying to pick up the Pac wave as opposed to digging south and southeast out ahead of it
deltadog03
NAM is getting squashed right now....part in the northern branch and the other part trying to tuck west...not a good start for sure.
