griteater
It's definitely a run in the suppressed camp...but decent looking system in terms of strength, nothing huge

It's not a whiff and we FINALLY have snow in the Carolinas on the EURO. Let's go to sleep and chalk it up as a win.
burrel2
Euro is ilke 36 hours faster with the surface low when compared to the Ukmet. Hm....

packbacker
So GFS swings the front through and the 2nd energy does its dirty work. Euro and CMC both show a wave riding a front. Any snow would be a win.
griteater
Euro keeps wanting to run the northern stream wave diving down in tandom with bringing out the Pac wave. Ideal scenario would be to get the northern stream wave to clear, then bring the Pac wave close behind it (faster than GFS)....that solution would be colder in the wake of the northern stream wave clearing...and allow for a nice second wave system....not too much to ask for

burrel2
Just basing this off the 5h maps that we have, but the 144hr Ukmet looks like a really nice hit. I would guess it's very cold at 850 with a nice wedging high pressure and a weak surface low over new orleans. It's probably depicting a nice 3-6 inch event for most people in this sub-forum. They have to converge somewhere (or not...one could fold to the other lol) MAYBE it's not too much to ask...maybe.

Cold air is tilted more SW to NE so it has light snow from central/ S MS / North Bama to Greensboro...tight cut off on temps Is it showing rain for the Triangle? Thing I hate about the UKMet is how it is bringing the Pac wave out into Montana, whereas the Euro is diving it southeast thru the Great Basin (much preferred)...lots to resolve there

FallsLake
At 102 the 6z GFS has dropped a nice little event on NC and Virginia with the first wave. Second wave back to the 18z look if not even better.

Jonathan
6z GFS isn't gonna disappoint. Much more robust first system on Thursday night for VA/NC and a perfect gulf storm track on wave two. N GA/N SC and points north and west get a nice storm.

JoshM
1032 High north of us, plenty of precip, plus High temps in the 20s Saturday for most of NC/SC. I think most folks on here can live with that. And then there's this...
FallsLake
Many would be happy. Of course a lot of this on the southern edge would be mixed with ice:

Yep. 6z goofy just let us have our cake and eat it too. Beautiful. Man I wish there were a mechanism in place to slow that second wave down as it turns the corner off the Carolina coast. But I won't be too greedy. This was a good run.

JoshM
I'm too tired to look at the ZR maps, but it appears Atlanta towards Columbia are going to get hammered, if this were to verify.

WNC_Fort
Is the moisture not making it into WNC as well on the 6z GFS? Odd to see less accumulation in that region of the state compared to the east.
