It means that the system is stronger overall, which favors a more NW track (though not by much) and more precip in general. The biggest concern I'd have for RDU and points southeast in a stronger situation is air temps, as a further NW/stronger storm should be slightly warmer/pull in more warm air aloft. I'm not noticing too much of a difference at all in that department on the 12z GFS though, so it may not become a problem for the Raleigh area.
