jaxjagman
Cold front is coming in faster than what the short range models have been showing, for our region anyways.DP's are less than impressive even towards B'Ham
monsoonman1
I know it's not in the subforum, but SW Georgia is getting hammered. Probably at least a couple significant tornadoes in Early and Calhoun Counties.
monsoonman1
Alabama's Gov. Bentley tweeted that 4 people were killed in Houston County, AL. Terrible start to the year.

Looks like they were all in one structure in the Rehobeth area (southern end of the Dothan metro).

Yeah, i agree with this. Its not in our subforum. There should be another forum that adds this region on American Wx,either that or expand this region into the Gulf states
Chinook
There have been no tornadoes in Georgia reported. I find that it is weird that so few reports are in Alabama. Maybe Mobile office didn't transmit reports to the SPC??? The small supercell that tracked near Orion and Union Springs AL seems to be associated with a tornado report at 2 ESE High Ridge, Bullock County, Alabama. monsoonman1
The damage related to the 4 deaths in AL was determined to be strong RFD winds.
nrgjeff
Once again we see how fragile mobile homes are in storms. The loss of life to start the new year is sad.
