Also worth noting the long range models may not show a nina-like pattern enough. IOW, (just throwing it out there because I remember the weeklies did this in Dec)..it wouldn't shock me if that goes from a Nino like +PNA to a dateline or AK ridge in future runs. Of course the past does not predict the future..but just saying.

Careful-

I could see it with the residual ubber Nino hangover, though....we'll see.

No upslope 33:1 ratios born of a queef from PFs' cat??

 clowns.  I love it.  So much hate for others snow.

To be fair my last snow survey had 14" of liquid in a 47" snowpack at 3,000ft and 6" in an 18-inch depth at 1,500ft.

Last night's 2-3" needed the water squeezed from it before applying to ones nape.

That's no foo foo pack.

I'm most offended though by the cat remark.  I'm a dog guy damnit!  <unhinged/>

The ghosts of last year are coming roaring back.

Hope we get another period like this in Feb again. Nothing wrong with that.

Even the worst of winters have  stretches of several cold days....we aim higher.

Yeah I don't think any of us are about to see 18" QPF as snow in a week anytime soon haha.

Its crazy to me that I've got 14" in the mountain snowpack and they'll do that in a week.

We don't have an ocean to our west and a very strong jet stream screaming into a wall of mountains

That was an awesome day with those temps and winds, deep deep winter

Last winter sucked donkey sack, but that 10 day stretch in February was pretty awesome. Two solid storms...one was man snow and the other was arctic powder....and then the coldest temps recorded in nearly 6 decades to cap it off. It's too bad that was really the only memorable stretch until we got that crazy week in April with powdery snow falling on the seaport in Boston in midday, lol.

There are definitely signs this year though that we may have some fun in February. Still a lot of uncertainty though...the Nina may try and blunt some of that El Nino look on the models as it gets closer, as Scooter as alluded to.

I thouroughly enjoyed that stretch as much as any year. if you look back on the records there is not consistent winter very often, its starts and stops around here but that ten days was very special. I appreciate each day no matter the weather but those ten days were a sweet time.

I could deal with that.  Last year I tapped my trees in mid-February even though we started having some favorable days at the end of January so this year I plan on tapping in late January so I could capture some of that sap.  If February and March play right, I could have a nice long season!

Ughhh..Posting about cat queefs, west coast epic snows, and past snow days of yore.

...Winter 16/17 is failing right on cue at the moment.

Drinking my Jamesons on the rocks tonight. No ginger ale...no cola. Just coming to terms with the need to draw the shades in my own way.

Burlington Beer Co. Wizard double IPA here haha.

My dog keeps farting but it's not creating any fluffy accumulations.  I don't know what's up.  Usually she can cause that 4" of fluff to fall immediately.

Lol. Thanks for the laughter before I head down into to the crawlspace for a few weeks.

I had Wizard last time I was in BTV, pretty good stuff.
