NC_hailstorm
That run looks like the 12/20 12z Euro run digging that shortwave through NM and TX but this is a bit deeper. That's a big hit for the upper south at least,GFS temps are more than likely off.Just 1 run though.
mrdaddyman
CAD much weaker on that run of the GFS than the previous. It's much stronger on the CMC.

HKY_WX
Pretty similiar setup to 2/1/96 like I mentioned a few days ago. Long duration ice to snow scenario. PV Dips down into the midwest/lakes and swing seastward slowly. This sets up a strong feed out of the gulf. Exciting look. Let's hope the GFS is onto it. Actually gfs is snow to zr to zr followed by more zr then snow. Maybe.. I say maybe due to the fact gfs showing the 850 low in the Piedmont. Mountains look ripe for a good snow. But 850 low goes from Piedmont of NC to west of DC. Mix issues and and dry slot issues will probably occur
kvegas-wx
Sure, details....details. But one thing is certain. Somebody from OH to SC to the MA is gonna get crushed in the next 7-8 days and the models are all over the trailing cold. Frozen precip or not, nobody wants to be without power thru New Years weekend. Brrrr!! So lets see what the king has in store.

griteater
UKMet at the end of its run at 144 is similar to GFS. Wave digging into the SW though not quite as much as GFS. Miller B with CAD

oconeexman
Pretty much a 1040+ high in great position with copious moisture spells major winter storm for most all of us on here. Its a matter of how far into georgia the cad will entrench as to the impacts toward Lookouts abode.
