Justincobbco
Woof woof, big dog potential for a se forum wide event. Sure a lot can go wrong but there is a chance. A lot can also go just right and then boom goes the dynamite. Woohooo! Anytime I hear "CAD" I get excited .
NCSNOW
Am I underdone on my call for back to back. Should I pull the trigger on the Triple Crown (3 frozen precip events in a row)? A Jan 2000/ 10 day stretch redux? Stay tuned!

Love that huge, sprawling, HP settling in over the NE. This is what we have been missing with these winter storms the last few winters. Hopefully it will be as strong as modeled right now and will set up some serious CAD over us.

A ton of overrunning with snow and ice across the area. Looks like it was dropping a good amount too... hmmm.

CummingGaSnow
FFC just released their afternoon AFD. Here's the gooey part: At the same time reinforcing arctic high slides into the great lakes and begins the process of wedging into NE GA by late Wed into early Thu setting us up for wedge conditions through Friday. Will need to watch Thursday into Friday as another wave moves through the flow with some moisture overrunning the CAD that could mean some more wintry mix. ECMWF not as bullish on the moisture arriving over the CAD until after the extended period. Either way, it makes Day 6 and Day 7 of this forecast a low confidence forecast. Will need to watch for sure as wedge events can always be a challenge. It's hard to think out of all of this we won't have at least some minor icing in the CAD areas of N GA. Bring on the CAD!!!!! Actually looks like a system the middle of next week could be sneaking up on us, followed by a system late next week, and another possible one after the new year. Lots going on. BullCityWx
12z Euro is really, really cold in the LR. Cold like almost not going above freezing for nearly 96 hours at the end of its run for a good chunk of NC.
